Etanetas accelerates internet expansion in the regions: last year — dozens of kilometres of networks, this year — even more intensively

Šalčininkai-based Etanetas, one of the first internet providers in Lithuania and focused on developing internet access in the regions, is successfully carrying out its expansion. In 2024, dozens of kilometres of fibre-optic internet networks were laid up to customers and base stations. Meanwhile, this year, it is planned that the directions of expansion will be even broader.

In 2024, one of Etanetas's main expansion projects was a fibre route of more than 10 km along the route Skaidiškės – Paliepiai – Daržininkai – Stankutiškės. A fibre cable was also laid up to the Etanetas base station in the village of Balandžiai.

In addition, the fibre-optic network was expanded in the town of Jasiūnai — mostly on Šilo and Miško streets, and short fibre sections were installed in the villages of Pagiriai and Melekoniai and in the town of Šalčininkai.

As Etanetas internet and TV services CEO Artur Stefanovič explains, the expansion was carried out by laying fibre-optic networks up to customers and to base stations where the company's wireless antennas already operate. In this way, customers living further away who currently have no possibility of connecting to the fibre-optic network are ensured a fast wireless internet connection.

"Our aim is that, as technologies advance and more and more household devices that require an internet connection are used, technological progress reaches not only large cities but also every resident of the region. By expanding the network into more remote areas, we create the possibility for everyone to use fast, reliable internet. This is the foundation for education, for business and for everyday life in the modern world," says A. Stefanovič.

According to the Etanetas CEO, it is planned that 2025 will be even more intensive in terms of expansion, and in the near future expansion is already planned in such locations in the Šalčininkai district as the village of Šalčinėliai, several streets of the town of Jasiūnai, Aukštieji Rusokai, Trakų slėnis, and the town of Eišiškės.

"All the planned directions of expansion are based on the laying of new fibre-optic networks, ensuring residents the possibility of using fast, reliable and future-proof internet. The fibre technology being deployed in the expansion allows us to provide exceptionally fast and reliable internet. We will be able to offer customers various plans, and the maximum fibre-optic internet speed we can already provide is up to 10 Gbps, depending on the chosen plan," says A. Stefanovič.

Etanetas is a reliable, fast internet and TV services company that has been operating for more than 20 years. The company began providing internet services back in 2004–2005, and a year later it already offered fibre-optic internet and was the first provider to bring fibre to Šalčininkai.

It first built its fibre network in the town, then expanded it into the district, and later beyond its borders. Eight years ago the company began providing fibre-optic internet to residents of the Vilnius district in Rudamina, Salininkai and Pagiriai, as well as to all residents of the multi-unit buildings in Naujoji Vilnia.
